The order arrived with a huge hole and dent in the outer box but all three kits inside appear to have not been damaged. The three kits in the order are birthday presents for our grandson we purchased early while some of the items in the order were on sale. His birthday isn't until July so we won't really know how good the kits are until then. But, they are an addition to his growing collection of COBI so we're confident these will be as good and he will enjoy building them.
My partner was almost reduced to tears trying to assemble this kit. She became frustrated after spending two hours on it, and told me she would not be moving ahead with the other kits either. She is a very experienced Lego kit builder, and she found the fitment of the pieces in this COBI kit to be poor. I will look to return the two other unopened kits.
Cool looking model once done, but assembling the struts that are connecting the wings with the plane and each other is a fiddly nightmare. This soured the whole building experience for me. I would not buy this model again.
I got it from my local shop and got tryed to build it and oh my god it was terrible the top part won’t go on missing parts that I don’t have spares for and just bad building experience for me
I build a cuple of kits from COBI this one worst one
To echo the one star review, attaching the wing struts is a pain in the butt, but not impossible, took me maybe 20 minutes to get it adjusted for the wings to stay in place. Considering the lack of WWI kits by Cobi, this is a solid addition.
I have built over 20 of your tanks, planes, and one ship and have found them fun and relaxing to build. But I must complain about the Fokker D. VII Fighter Set # 2994. I found the design to be impossible to construct and attach the wing struts. I tried well over a hundred times but each time I connected one item another would come apart either another strut or a wing plate. Also the center top wing white plate had blue printed on each end wihich wore off showing white underneath after so many tries of trying to attach the wing struts. This particular kit was horribly designed, and no young person is able to construct it I would argue. I feel I wasted my money and threw the kit away to save me the aggravation and lower my blood pressure and will advise others to stay clear of this kit.
